Design
A beautiful landscape is more than a collection of plants. It is an intentional process of making thoughtful connections between your home’s architecture, family lifestyle, and the natural world. Our design process is very collaborative between designer and client to understand the needs of the landscape and your dreams for the space. By blending timeless traditions with the character of your property, we create designs that prioritize four-seasons of interest, plant layering, and functional flow while addressing technical requirements such as drainage, privacy, and irrigation. The result is a beautiful outdoor experience you love.
Installation
Installation is when meticulous planning is translated into reality. To ensure the design integrity, precise installation documents are created, including master planting, hardscape, and lighting plans. We also specialize in design elements such as outdoor furnishings and garden ornamentation. Throughout the process, we provide on-site oversight and coordinate with landscape and specialty contractors to ensure the layout and materials align with the original vision. We manage the complexity of installation so you can simply enjoy the transformation.
Garden Maintenance
A well-designed garden is not a finished product; it is a living investment that matures and evolves. Garden maintenance focuses on the horticultural health and aesthetic balance of your landscape through the changing seasons. Each garden management program begins with an on-site walkthrough and is individually tailored to the specific goals of your landscape. Comprehensive care includes precision pruning, perennial management, and the identification of plant pests or diseases, as well as light weeding and seasonal planning. Maintenance is available on a monthly, seasonal or bi-annual basis, ensuring your landscape doesn’t just survive, but thrives.
The Design Process
Designing a landscape is a step-by-step process that considers your wish list, property needs, and budget to create a space that is both beautiful and functional. Through the entire process, communication drives the design to bring your outdoor space to life.
Consultation - During the consultation call, we learn about the project, the general needs of the space and landscape goals, followed by an on-site visit to tour your property and review the vision for the project.
Design Phase I: Site Assessment and Preliminary Design Plan - The design phase establishes the vision and structure for the garden and includes the site assessment, scaled base map of existing conditions, preliminary design plan and preliminary plant palette.
Design Phase II: Conceptual Design Plan - The Conceptual Design Plan is created from an extensive analysis of the information provided in Phase I and from the Preliminary Design Plan feedback to create a design concept with plant layers, 4 seasons of interest, bloom succession, etc.
Design Phase III: Final Landscape Plans - The Final Landscape Design Plans are created with the details from the Conceptual Design Plan meeting. This includes key landscape components of any proposed hardscape finishes, plants, outdoor furnishings, and additional design elements.
Installation - From the Final Landscape Plans installation documents are created, which may include planting, site removal, hardscape, and lighting plans, as well as irrigation information and outdoor furnishings. On-site overview is provided and coordination with specialty contractors for lighting, irrigation, drainage, etc. to execute the landscape design as it was created.
Garden Maintenance - As your garden continues to mature through the seasons, it’s important to manage the health and long-term aesthetics of your investment. Through regular maintenance we are able to observe how the garden matures in its growth, balance and proportion, and manage its horticultural needs. Garden maintenance services for the first year after planting are part of the installation agreement, as well as offered to those wanting ongoing support, or seasonal clean-ups on a monthly, quarterly, or biannual basis. The garden maintenance proposal is individually designed for your property and identifies the goals and services needed for your landscape to thrive.
